1956’s Perfection – Eames Lounge Chair

I could write a novel about this chair … as car lovers dream of a Porsche, architects dream of one special chair:

Launched in 1956, the Eames Lounge Chair is the most famous piece of furniture ever made.

It has been 63 years since this chair is in continuous production, and is to this day, a desired piece, despite its “current” age. The famous couple Ray and Charles Eames have focused on making furniture accessible, except for this luxury item inspired by the traditional English club chair.

Currently, this chair costs between 7,000 and 15,000 euros, depending on the finish (yes, you read the price well)… well spent money because it is said to be the most comfortable chair ever created. And even though, over the course of its history, the newspaper in the owner’s hand has been replaced by the tablet and the smartphone, the owners say they fall asleep in it faster than in bed, and it feels like a hug.

If it seems familiar, you may have seen it over the years in the famous series F.R.I.E.N.D.S. , Dr. House, Frasier, in countless other movies and museums around the world, being an iconic piece, a symbol of success.
